“I started my search for a Family Tour Package (6N/7D) around 3 weeks before my travel to Kashmir (also called "Heaven on Earth"), and I came across multiple travel agents (including big names like MMT, Yatra, etc.) providing a similar package. Since I travel regularly, I always prefer to book the tour via a local travel agent since they have a good understanding of the place, and their local connections always help. And that's how I came across Poise Travel & Tourism. After I submitted my request for a quote on their online portal based on my itinerary (Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Sonamarg), I got a response after a couple of days (probably a slower response than other agents). I got a call on my mobile number from Areesa (travel agent from Poise), who ultimately became a single point of contact for my entire trip to Kashmir. My initial conversation with her started with understanding my requirement, suggesting good hotels & finally the budget. I must say she was very responsive, committed & patient with all my queries, demands, etc., & that is something I really liked about her. Once I reached Kashmir, Areesa made sure to call me every day & check to ensure that I was enjoying the trip. At one of the hotels, I raised a concern about the size of the room that was allotted to us, & to my surprise, I got a free upgrade to a Suite on the same day. Also, I would like to mention our driver, Mr. Tareeq Ahmed, who was assigned for the whole trip, & I must say he was very caring & patient with us. By the end of the trip, he became like extended family for us, & I really enjoyed some good conversations with him. “Sumaira arranged a tour of Kashmir of one week for 4 persons, which covered hotel stay and taxi. All hotels were very good and safe, having the required facilities like geyser, electric blankets & food. In each hotel, smoking and drinks were allowed. All hotels are at very good places, clean, and with supportive staff, except one hotel, Mountain Shadow, which offered below-par facilities. The best thing: taxi driver Mustaq was a very skilled driver who drove the vehicle very carefully. Sumaira is very supportive in making the trip wonderful and takes care of each small concern seriously. Accommodated all our requests without hesitation and provided us with all the support required to coordinate with the hotels and travel. Even when we encountered small hiccups she was always fast to respond and arrange the solutions. I had only paid the advance before arrival, though she called daily never even reminded to pay the balance I initiated the payment on my own something that apps cant do. The mutual trust developed made this trip really memorable. Our chauffer Mr. Adil was a well mannered and soft spoken person. Gave us enough tips to stay away from tourist place scams. Took us to places even outside our itinerary without any hesitation. Coming from a background of always using travel apps and speaking to chat bots, automated voice response or call centre agents sitting in other countries who show no empathy to the situation you are in, Poise and Sumaira provided an eye opening experience and a wake up call for people like me to use brick and mortar stores and keep this industry alive.
