Day 1 — Arrival in Hanoi, Old Quarter Evening Route: Noi Bai International Airport (HAN) → Hanoi city (approx. 35 km, 45-60 minutes)
Arrive at Noi Bai International Airport (HAN) and clear immigration - Indian passport holders need a pre-approved e-Visa, applied online through evisa.gov.vn (approximately $25, 3 working days processing). Your driver meets you at arrivals and drives to your hotel in the Old Quarter or French Quarter (45-60 minutes depending on traffic). Check in and take the late afternoon slowly. In the evening, walk to Hoan Kiem Lake - the heart of Hanoi, with the red Huc Bridge leading to Ngoc Son Temple on a small island. The area around the lake is pedestrianised on weekends and evenings, and the setting is genuinely romantic. Dinner at a couple-friendly restaurant near the lake - Hanoi has excellent Vietnamese, French and Indian options. This is a soft landing day - Hanoi is hot and humid year-round, and the flight plus immigration takes energy.

The French Quarter is quieter and more upscale than the Old Quarter - better for honeymooners. Day 2 — Hanoi City Tour, Street Food and Water Puppets Route: Hanoi → Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum → Temple of Literature → Old Quarter → Hoan Kiem Lake
A full day in Hanoi. Start at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum complex (exterior - the mausoleum itself has limited opening hours and long queues) including the Stilt House, Presidential Palace, and One Pillar Pagoda. Then the Temple of Literature - Vietnam's first university, founded in 1070, with peaceful courtyards and pavilions that offer a quiet break from the city. Lunch at a local restaurant - try pho (noodle soup), bun cha (grilled pork with noodles), and fresh spring rolls. Afternoon: a cyclo ride through the Old Quarter (approx. VND 200,000 per person for 30–45 minutes) - the three-wheeled pedicabs are a relaxed way to see the 36 streets. Late afternoon: a private street food walking tour with a guide, sampling safe, curated street eats. Important: The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is closed on Mondays and Fridays and has limited opening hours (usually 7:30-10:30 AM). Dress code is strict - shoulders and knees covered, no shorts, no sleeveless tops. The water puppet show sells out most evenings - book in advance through your hotel or online. The cyclo ride is romantic in the late afternoon light - ask the driver to take the quieter streets around Hoan Kiem Lake rather than the heavy traffic areas.
Day 3 — Hanoi to Ha Long Bay, Overnight Cruise Route: Hanoi → Ha Long Bay (approx. 170 km, 2.5–3.5 hours) → Overnight cruise
Leave Hanoi by 8:00 AM for the drive to Ha Long Bay (2.5-3.5 hours via the Hanoi-Ha Long Expressway). Board your cruise by late morning - check-in is usually 12:30-1:00 PM. Ha Long Bay is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with nearly 2,000 limestone islands and islets rising from emerald water. Lunch on board as the cruise sails past karsts. Afternoon activities depend on your cruise: visit Sung Sot Cave (Surprise Cave - large chambers with stalactites and stalagmites), kayaking or bamboo boat rides around floating villages, and swimming at Titop Island (weather-permitting). Evening: cooking demonstration on board, sunset on the deck, and dinner. Overnight in an air-conditioned private cabin. Important: Not all Ha Long Bay cruises are equally suited to honeymooners - some are family-oriented, others are adult-only or luxury. For honeymooners, we recommend the luxury cruises (Paradise Elegance, Ambassador, Emperor Cruises) which offer private balconies, jacuzzi cabins, and quieter itineraries. Sung Sot Cave involves climbing steps - manageable with reasonable fitness. Kayaking requires basic swimming ability - life jackets are provided. Ha Long Bay can be stormy May-August - cruises can be cancelled for safety. Travel insurance is strongly recommended.
Day 4 — Ha Long Bay to Hanoi, Free Afternoon Route: Ha Long Bay → Hanoi (2.5–3.5 hours) → Hanoi
Early morning: optional Tai Chi session on the sundeck at sunrise (a Ha Long Bay tradition), then continue cruising past more karsts. Visit a floating fishing village or another cave depending on your cruise itinerary. Brunch on board, then disembark by late morning (check-out is usually 9:30-11:00 AM). Drive back to Hanoi (2.5-3.5 hours), arriving by late afternoon. Check in to your hotel and take the rest of the day at leisure. Honeymooners often use this afternoon for a couples' spa treatment at a top Hanoi spa (Sofitel Legend Metropole, JW Marriott, or a boutique day spa) - book in advance. Important: Disembarkation is usually by 11:00 AM. The drive back to Hanoi can take longer in peak traffic - plan for 3–3.5 hours. Day 5 — Hanoi Shopping, Departure Route: Hanoi → Hoan Kiem Lake area → Noi Bai International Airport (HAN)
Check out after breakfast and spend the morning on a final walk around Hoan Kiem Lake or the Old Quarter for last-minute shopping. Hanoi is good for silk, lacquerware, coffee (Vietnamese robusta is excellent), and local crafts. If your flight is in the afternoon, have lunch at a family-friendly restaurant before transferring to Noi Bai International Airport (HAN). International departures recommend arriving 3 hours before the flight - Noi Bai immigration and security can be slow in peak season. Pack liquids in checked luggage. Vietnamese coffee and silk are good souvenirs - buy coffee from a specialist shop (not the airport) for quality.

Best Time to Travel:
Northern Vietnam (Hanoi and Ha Long Bay) is best from February to April (spring) and September to November (autumn), with milder weather (18-25°C) and better visibility. March and April are the sweet spot for honeymooners - mild, sunny, and comfortable. May to August is hot, humid, and wet - Ha Long Bay can be stormy and cruises can be cancelled. December to February is cooler (14-20°C in Hanoi), with mist and occasional cold snaps - pack layers. Avoid Tết (Vietnamese Lunar New Year, late January or early February) - many businesses close and transport is packed.
Suitable For:
Couples and honeymooners who want a compact Vietnam trip with both city culture and natural scenery. Not suitable for travellers who want beach time (Ha Long Bay is a bay, not a beach destination) or who want a multi-city Vietnam trip (Hoi An, Ho Chi Minh City, Mekong Delta are separate itineraries). Not suitable for travellers who want a slow-paced, purely lounging honeymoon - this itinerary packs a lot into 5 days.
Travel Pace:
Moderate. Day 1 is arrival and evening. Day 2 is a full city day. Day 3 is travel and cruise. Day 4 is cruise and return. Day 5 is shopping and departure. This is a compact 5-day trip - two destinations, one overnight cruise. Honeymooners who want a slower pace should extend to 6D/5N.
Accommodation:
Hanoi: 4-star or 5-star hotel in the Old Quarter or French Quarter (double sharing). The French Quarter is quieter and more upscale - better for honeymooners. The Old Quarter is more atmospheric. Ha Long Bay: overnight cruise with private cabin (double sharing) - luxury options (Paradise Elegance, Ambassador, Emperor Cruises) offer private balconies, jacuzzi cabins, and quieter itineraries. Transport:
Private AC vehicle for all included transfers and tours. The vehicle is exclusively for the two of you. Hanoi-Ha Long is 2.5-3.5 hours via the expressway. Grab is available in Hanoi for ad-hoc trips but not part of this package.
Meals:
Breakfast included on all days. Lunches and dinners included on the Ha Long Bay cruise (Day 3). Other lunches and dinners are not included - budget VND 100,000-300,000 per person per meal at local restaurants, or VND 300,000-600,000 at mid-range restaurants. Hanoi has excellent Vietnamese, French-Vietnamese and Indian restaurants. Ha Long Bay cruise meals are included and typically seafood-focused - tell us at booking if you have dietary restrictions. Vegetarian and Jain food is available at Indian restaurants in Hanoi.
Important Notes:
Visa for Indian passport holders: Vietnam e-Visa is mandatory. Apply online at evisa.gov.vn at least 3 working days before travel. Fee is approximately $25 per person (₹2,360). The e-Visa is valid for 90 days with multiple entry. Carry a printout of your e-Visa. The Embassy of India in Hanoi recommends checking that visa details match passport details before departure.
Currency: Vietnamese Dong (VND). ATMs are widely available at Noi Bai Airport and in Hanoi. Cards are accepted at hotels and larger restaurants; street food and markets are cash-only. USD is accepted at some hotels but VND is better for daily use.
SIM card: Local SIMs (Viettel, Mobifone, Vinaphone) are available at Noi Bai Airport on arrival - approximately VND 100,000–200,000 for a tourist SIM with 7-15 days validity.
Tipping: Not mandatory but appreciated. For drivers and guides, VND 100,000-200,000 per day is standard.
Traffic: Hanoi traffic is chaotic - motorbikes dominate. Cross streets slowly and deliberately.
Tết (Lunar New Year): Late January or early February. Many businesses close, transport is packed, and prices spike. Avoid if possible.
Ha Long Bay weather: May-August is stormy - cruises can be cancelled for safety. Check forecasts and have travel insurance.

May-August: Hot, humid, wet. Hanoi 26-35°C. Ha Long Bay stormy - cruises can be cancelled. Cheaper rates but less reliable.
September-November: Second-best window. Autumn - cooler, drier, sunny. September-October are excellent. Book 4-6 weeks ahead.
December-February: Cooler (14-20°C in Hanoi). Mist and occasional cold snaps. Pack layers. Tết (late January/February) is peak - avoid.

Cancellation & refund policy
Cancellation, Amendment & Refund Policy
1. Booking Confirmation & Advance Payment
A booking shall be considered confirmed only upon receipt of the required advance payment. The company reserves the right to release unconfirmed bookings without prior notice. All payments made towards booking confirmation are subject to the cancellation terms mentioned below.
2. Cancellation Policy
All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email or official communication channels. Cancellation charges will be calculated based on the total package cost and the date on which the written cancellation request is received by the company.

3. Non-Refundable Components
The following components shall be strictly non-refundable once confirmed:
- Flight/train tickets (if applicable)
- Visa fees
- Permit charges
- Peak season hotel bookings
- Houseboat bookings during high season
- Adventure/activity tickets
- Any special event or festive season supplement
- Service fees, processing fees, and convenience charges
The company reserves the right to deduct supplier-imposed cancellation charges in addition to the above retention charges wherever applicable.
4. Amendment / Rescheduling Policy
Any amendment, modification, postponement, or rescheduling request must be submitted in writing and shall be subject to availability and supplier approval. The company does not guarantee acceptance of amendment requests after booking confirmation. Any fare difference, seasonal surcharge, hotel rate revision, transport cost escalation, or supplier-imposed amendment fee shall be payable additionally by the client/agent. Amendments requested within 30 days of arrival may be treated as a cancellation and rebooking at the sole discretion of the company.
5. No Show Policy
Failure of the guest/client to arrive, utilize booked services, or join the tour on the scheduled date without prior written intimation shall be treated as a “No Show”.
In such cases:
- 100% of the total booking amount shall be forfeited
- No refund, amendment, or credit note shall be applicable
- Unused services, early departures, or missed sightseeing tours shall not qualify for any refund.
6. Force Majeure / Unforeseen Circumstances
Poise Travel and Tourism shall not be held liable for any cancellation, delay, alteration, loss, or additional expense arising due to circumstances beyond the company’s control, including but not limited to:
- Natural disasters
- Floods, snowfall, landslides, road blockages
- Political unrest, strikes, curfews
- Flight cancellations or operational disruptions
- Pandemic-related restrictions
- Government orders or travel advisories
Under such circumstances:
- Refunds, if any, shall strictly depend upon recoveries received from hotels, transporters, and other suppliers.
- Administrative, processing, and operational charges shall remain non-refundable.
- The company reserves the absolute right to alter itineraries in the interest of guest safety and operational feasibility.
7. Refund Policy
Eligible refunds, if any, shall be processed within 30–45 working days from the date of cancellation confirmation. Refund timelines are subject to receipt of funds from respective suppliers/vendors. Refunds shall be processed only through the original payment mode unless otherwise agreed in writing. Bank charges, payment gateway fees, foreign exchange fluctuations, and transaction charges shall be deducted from the refundable amount.
8. Pricing & Supplier Protection Clause
All package rates are dynamic and subject to availability at the time of confirmation. In case of sudden supplier tariff revisions, fuel hikes, government taxes, or hotel policy changes, the company reserves the right to revise package pricing prior to final confirmation. Confirmed bookings shall remain protected unless impacted by force majeure or supplier default.
9. Jurisdiction
Any dispute arising in relation to bookings, payments, or services shall be subject to the jurisdiction of courts located in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir only.
10. Hotel Damage & Liability Clause
Any loss, damage, breakage, theft, or misuse of hotel/houseboat property caused by guests shall be the sole responsibility of the guest and/or the booking agent. Charges imposed by the hotel/houseboat management for damages, excessive cleaning, missing items, or misconduct must be settled directly by the guest or agent before check-out. Poise Travel and Tourism shall not be held liable for disputes arising between guests and hotel management regarding damages or conduct. The company reserves the right to recover any unpaid damage charges from the booking agent in case the guest departs without settlement.
11. Guest Conduct Policy
Guests are expected to maintain respectful and lawful behavior throughout the tour. Any misconduct including but not limited to:
- Abuse towards staff/drivers/hotel employees
- Illegal activities
- Consumption of prohibited substances
- Damage to public or private property
- Disturbance to other guests
May result in immediate termination of services without any refund. Any fines, penalties, legal consequences, or damages arising due to guest behavior shall be borne entirely by the guest and/or (b2b) booking agent. The company reserves the right to deny services to intoxicated, abusive, or disruptive guests if deemed necessary for operational safety.
12. Payment Default Clause
All payments must be cleared within the agreed timeline prior to guest arrival unless otherwise approved in writing. Failure to clear pending dues may result in:
- Release of hotel bookings
- Suspension of services
- Denial of check-in/check-out assistance
- Cancellation of transport arrangements without further liability on the company.
In case of delayed payments:
- The company reserves the right to levy interest/late payment charges.
- Any supplier penalties arising due to delayed payment shall be recoverable from the booking agent/client.
- Vouchers and confirmations issued prior to full payment shall remain provisional until payment realization.
13. Peak Season / Blackout Cancellation Policy
The following periods shall be treated as Peak Season / Blackout Dates:
- Christmas & New Year
- Eid Holidays
- Long weekends
- National holidays
- Heavy snowfall periods
- Festival dates
- Any dates specifically notified by the company
During these periods:
- Hotel bookings, transport services, and houseboats may carry stricter cancellation terms imposed by suppliers.
- Certain bookings may become completely non-refundable immediately after confirmation.
- Advance payments during blackout periods may be non-transferable and non-adjustable.
- The company reserves the right to apply special cancellation policies for peak dates irrespective of the standard cancellation policy mentioned above.
14. Kashmir Weather / Snowfall Disclaimer
Kashmir is a weather-sensitive destination and operations may be affected due to:
- Snowfall
- Landslides
- Road closures
- Avalanches
- Traffic restrictions
- Flight disruptions
- Government-imposed movement restrictions
Poise Travel and Tourism shall not be responsible for:
- Non-availability of sightseeing
- Gondola closure
- Missed flights/trains
- Route diversions
- Hotel changes caused by weather conditions
- Delay or cancellation of activities due to snowfall or road blockage
Additional expenses arising due to:
- Extra hotel nights
- Alternative transport
- Route changes
- Vehicle chain charges during snow
- Flight rescheduling
Shall be borne directly by the guest/client. No refund shall be applicable for unused services caused due to weather conditions or government restrictions beyond operational control.
15. Supplier Substitution Clause
In case any confirmed hotel, houseboat, or transport provider becomes unavailable due to operational reasons, overbooking, weather conditions, maintenance, or force majeure, the company reserves the right to provide a similar category alternative without prior liability. Every effort shall be made to maintain service standards and comfort levels.
16. B2B Confidentiality Clause
All contracted rates, quotations, and pricing shared with agents/partners are strictly confidential and intended solely for B2B business use. Redistribution of net rates directly to suppliers, competitors, or unauthorized third parties is strictly prohibited. The company reserves the right to terminate business relationships in case of rate misuse or breach of confidentiality.
