About this experience
An 8-day, 7-night private Malaysia family tour covering Kuala Lumpur's skyline and Batu Caves, two nights in the Genting Highlands for theme parks and cable car, and three nights in Langkawi for beaches, SkyCab and island hopping. Paced for children and grandparents, with private transfers throughout.
Day by day
Day 1 — Arrival in Kuala Lumpur, City Evening Route: Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) → Kuala Lumpur city (approx. 60 km, 1–1.5 hours)
Arrive at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA or KLIA2) and clear immigration - Indian passport holders get visa-free entry to Malaysia for up to 30 days. Your driver meets you at arrivals and drives to your hotel in the KLCC or Bukit Bintang area (1-1.5 hours depending on traffic). Check in and let the family settle in - this is a rest day after the flight. In the evening, walk to the Petronas Twin Towers - the 88-storey towers are illuminated from 8 PM, and the KLCC Park fountain show runs at 8 PM, 9 PM and 10 PM. Dinner at a restaurant in KLCC or Bukit Bintang - Malaysia's food scene is excellent for families, with Indian, Chinese, Malay and Continental options in every food court.

Important: KLIA immigration queues can take 45–90 minutes in peak season. Malaysian visa is free for Indian passport holders for up to 30 days - no advance application needed. Malaysia uses Malaysian Ringgit (MYR); ATMs are widely available at KLIA and in KL. For a family of 4+, we use an SUV or a Toyota Innova-sized vehicle - confirm vehicle size at booking if travelling with more than 4.
Day 2 — Kuala Lumpur: City Tour and Batu Caves Route: Kuala Lumpur → Batu Caves → KL city circuit → Kuala Lumpur
A full-day city tour. Start early at Batu Caves (approx. 13 km north of KL, 30 minutes) - a Hindu temple complex built into a limestone hill, with the 272-step rainbow-painted staircase that leads to the main cave. The 42.7 m Murugan statue at the base is the tallest in the world. Go before 9 AM to avoid the heat and crowds - children and grandparents will appreciate the early start. Return to KL for the city circuit: King's Palace (Istana Negara) exterior, Merdeka Square (where Malaysia's independence was declared in 1957), Sultan Abdul Samad Building, and the National Mosque. Lunch at a restaurant in Chinatown or KLCC. Afternoon: KL Tower (421 m - observation deck tickets ~MYR 52) - the views are excellent on a clear day and there's a small zoo and F1 simulator at the base that children enjoy. Evening free - rest at the hotel or walk Bukit Bintang for street food.

Important: At Batu Caves, women who are menstruating are traditionally not permitted inside the temple - this is a local religious rule. Modest clothing required - shoulders and knees covered. The 272 steps are steep - grandparents with knee or heart conditions should wait at the base, where the Murugan statue and the temple's outer courtyard are visible. Macaques at Batu Caves grab food, drinks and loose items - keep bags zipped and don't feed them.
Day 3 — Kuala Lumpur to Genting Highlands Route: Kuala Lumpur → Genting Highlands (approx. 60 km, 1.5 hours via cable car or road)
Morning transfer to Genting Highlands - Malaysia's hill resort at 1,740 m, about 1.5 hours from KL. There are two ways up: the Awana SkyWay cable car (10 minutes from Awana Station to SkyAvenue, with a stop at the Chin Swee Caves Temple) or by road. We recommend the cable car for the experience - the views over the rainforest are excellent, and children love it. Check in to your hotel (First World Hotel, Resort World Awana, or Crockfords - we'll match to your budget). The rest of the day is for the family to explore: indoor and outdoor theme parks, SkyAvenue mall, and the Chin Swee Caves Temple. Dinner at one of the resort's many restaurants - Malaysian, Chinese, Indian, Western, and fast food all available.

Important: Genting SkyWorlds Outdoor Theme Park is the biggest draw for families - budget a full day if you want to cover it properly. Tickets are not included. The Awana SkyWay cable car can have long queues on weekends and holidays - book online in advance. Genting sits at 1,740 m - much lower than Kashmir or Ladakh, so altitude sickness is not a concern. It can be cool (15–22°C) in the evenings - carry a light jacket.
Day 4 — Genting Full Day: Theme Park and Chin Swee Route: Genting Highlands (in and around)
A full family day at Genting. Choose one of two primary options - either spend the day at Genting SkyWorlds Outdoor Theme Park (9 themed worlds, 26 rides, the biggest theme park in Malaysia) or split the day between Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park (for younger children) and SnowWorld (indoor snow experience, popular with kids who've never seen snow). In the late afternoon, take the cable car to Chin Swee Caves Temple - a Buddhist temple perched on a hilltop with panoramic views of the Titiwangsa mountains. Evening: dinner at SkyAvenue, then free time - the mall has a cinema, arcade, and 24-hour food court. Grandparents can enjoy the casino (Resorts World Genting) if interested - this is Malaysia's only legal casino.

Full-day theme park days require stamina - younger children may prefer Skytropolis and SnowWorld. The casino has a strict dress code (no shorts, no slippers) and is closed to those under 21.
Day 5 — Genting to Kuala Lumpur, Flight to Langkawi Route: Genting Highlands → Kuala Lumpur (1.5 hours) → KLIA or Subang (flight) → Langkawi
A travel day. Morning transfer from Genting down to Kuala Lumpur, then to KLIA or Subang Airport for your flight to Langkawi. Domestic flight KUL–LGK takes approximately 1 hour. Book a mid-afternoon departure so you have the morning in Genting without rushing. Your driver meets you at Langkawi International Airport (LGK) and transfers you to your beach resort in Pantai Cenang or Pantai Tengah (15-20 minutes). Langkawi is a duty-free island - alcohol and chocolate are significantly cheaper than mainland Malaysia. Check in and take the evening slowly - the family can walk the beach or swim before dinner at a seafood restaurant on the sand.

Important: Domestic flight KUL-LGK is not included in the package. Budget approximately MYR 200-450 per person one way depending on airline (AirAsia, Malaysia Airlines, Batik Air) and how early you book. For a family of 4+, book luggage allowance in advance - AirAsia and similar budget carriers charge high fees at the airport. Langkawi airport to Pantai Cenang is a 15–20 minute drive.
Day 6 — Langkawi: SkyCab, SkyBridge and Oriental Village Route: Langkawi → Oriental Village → SkyCab and SkyBridge → Langkawi
Full day on Langkawi, starting at Oriental Village (approx. 25 minutes from Pantai Cenang). The Langkawi SkyCab is one of the steepest cable car rides in the world, climbing to the top of Machinchang Mountain (708 m). The SkyBridge (a curved pedestrian bridge suspended at 660 m) gives panoramic views of the Andaman Sea, Thailand's Tarutao Island, and the Langkawi archipelago - one of the most photographed spots in Malaysia. SkyCab + SkyBridge tickets cost approximately MYR 55-85 per person depending on package. The Oriental Village at the base has restaurants, shops, a 3D art museum, and a small rabbit park that children enjoy. Afternoon: return to the resort for pool and beach time. Evening: dinner at a beachfront restaurant.

Important: SkyCab tickets are not included - buy online in advance (Langkawi SkyCab official site) to skip queues. SkyBridge is sometimes closed for maintenance - check status before booking. SkyCab has a maximum capacity per gondola - families of 4+ may be split across two cabins. The 3D art museum at Oriental Village is a hit with children - allow 1–2 hours.
Day 7 — Langkawi: Island Hopping and Beach Day Route: Langkawi → Island Hopping (boat) → Langkawi
Full day in Langkawi. Morning: a 3-4 hour island hopping tour (boat) visits Pulau Dayang Bunting (Lake of the Pregnant Maiden - a freshwater lake on an island, popular for swimming), Pulau Singa Besar (eagle feeding - from the boat only), and Pulau Beras Basah (a swimming beach with calm water). Tours cost approximately MYR 40-80 per person and include a boat, life jackets, and a guide. Children should be comfortable in the water - life jackets are mandatory. Afternoon: return to the resort for pool and beach time. Evening: dinner at a beachfront restaurant, or take a short drive to Pantai Tengah for a quieter sunset.

Important: Island hopping tours are not included - approximately MYR 40-80 per person. Life jackets are mandatory for all ages. Tours can be cancelled in monsoon (May-October) due to rough seas. Bring reef-safe sunscreen, hats, and a dry bag for electronics. Do not feed the eagles from land - this is illegal and harmful to the birds. Some boats stop at Pulau Dayang Bunting for 30-45 minutes, which is enough for a short swim in the lake.
Day 8 — Langkawi to Kuala Lumpur, Departure Route: Langkawi → Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) via KUL connection
Check out after breakfast and transfer to Langkawi Airport (LGK) for your flight back to Kuala Lumpur. If you have an international connection from KLIA, book a flight that gives you at least 3 hours of layover for the domestic-to-international transfer - KLIA and KLIA2 are separate terminals and require a 10-15 minute transfer by shuttle or train. If your international flight is the next day, we can add a night in KL at the airport hotel or a KL city hotel. Most international flights from KLIA depart in the late evening or after midnight - check your connection carefully.

Important: KLIA (international) and KLIA2 (AirAsia and low-cost carriers) are separate terminals. If you're connecting from a domestic AirAsia flight into KLIA2 to an international flight out of KLIA (or vice versa), allow at least 3 hours. The KLIA Ekspres train connects the two terminals in 3 minutes; a shuttle bus takes 10-15 minutes. Do not book tight connections - with children and luggage, 3 hours is the minimum.

Modest clothing for religious sites - shoulders and knees covered. Rain jacket or umbrella (KL has afternoon showers year-round).
Footwear: Comfortable walking shoes for KL city tour and Genting theme parks (Batu Caves involves 272 steps). Sandals or flip-flops for Langkawi beaches. Water shoes for island hopping (optional but useful).
Travel Essentials: Sunscreen SPF 50+, insect repellent (mosquitoes are present in Langkawi, especially in the mangroves), sunglasses, power bank, universal adapter (Malaysia uses Type G, 240V - UK-style three-pin plug), basic medicines including children's fever and stomach medicine, reusable water bottles, dry bag for island hopping, snacks for children.

Best Time to Travel:
November to April is the best window for this itinerary - Langkawi's Andaman coast is calm, dry and sunny, and Genting's theme parks run full schedules. December and January are peak - book 8-10 weeks ahead, especially for Genting hotels and Langkawi resorts. May to October is Malaysia's southwest monsoon - Langkawi sees rain and rougher seas (island hopping can be cancelled), while Kuala Lumpur and Genting stay hot and humid year-round with afternoon showers. Avoid the Lunar New Year (late January or early February), Hari Raya (dates vary), and Malaysian school holidays - flights, Genting hotels, and theme parks sell out at premium rates.
Suitable For:
Families with children aged 5+ who want a mix of city, theme parks, hill resort and beach. Multi-generational groups (grandparents welcome - the pacing allows rest). Not suitable for travellers who want pure beach time (KL and Genting are full stops), or who want offbeat/adventure travel. If your children are under 5, the itinerary works but you'll skip some of the outdoor activities (theme park rides have height restrictions).
Travel Pace:
Moderate. Three travel days (arrival, Genting–KL–Langkawi, departure) with flights and transfers. Days 2, 4, 6 and 7 are full activity days. Days 3 and 5 are travel-light. The pacing includes rest mornings and evenings - not a rushed checklist. This works for families with children 5+ and grandparents.
Accommodation:
Kuala Lumpur: 4-star or 5-star hotel in the KLCC or Bukit Bintang area (double/twin sharing) - walking distance to Petronas Towers and family-friendly dining. Genting Highlands: First World Hotel (budget, largest hotel in the world by room count), Resort World Awana (mid-range, family-friendly), or Crockfords (5-star luxury). Langkawi: 4-star or 5-star beach resort in Pantai Cenang or Pantai Tengah. Upgrades to premium properties (Mandarin Oriental KL, Four Seasons Langkawi, Ritz-Carlton Langkawi) available on request.
Transport:
Private AC vehicle for all included transfers - Toyota Innova or similar SUV for families of 4+. The vehicle is exclusively for your family. Awana SkyWay cable car tickets to Genting are included. Island hopping and SkyCab on Langkawi are separate. Grab is available in KL for ad-hoc trips but not part of this package.
Meals:
Breakfast included on all days. Lunches and dinners are not included - budget MYR 30–100 per person per meal depending on the restaurant. Malaysia is excellent for family dining: Kuala Lumpur has food courts with Indian, Chinese, Malay and Western options; Genting has a large variety at SkyAvenue; Langkawi is strong on seafood and beachfront dining. Halal food is widely available throughout. Vegetarian and Jain options are good in KL's Indian and Chinese districts, more limited in Langkawi and Genting. Children's menus are widely available.
Important Notes:
Visa for Indian passport holders: Visa-free entry to Malaysia for up to 30 days. No advance application required. Carry return ticket, hotel confirmation, and proof of sufficient funds - immigration may ask. Children need their own passports (at least 6 months validity).
Currency: Malaysian Ringgit (MYR). ATMs are widely available at KLIA, in KL, and in Langkawi. Cards are accepted at most hotels and larger restaurants; smaller hawker stalls and shops are cash-only.
SIM card: Local SIMs (Maxis, Celcom, Digi) are available at KLIA on arrival - approximately MYR 20-40 for a tourist SIM with 7-30 days validity.
Tipping: Not mandatory in Malaysia; 10% service charge is already included at most restaurants.
Dress code at religious sites: Modest clothing required at Batu Caves and the National Mosque - shoulders and knees covered. Women may be asked to wear a robe at the National Mosque (provided at the entrance). Children should also be dressed modestly.
Genting dress code: The casino has a strict dress code (no shorts, no slippers) and is closed to those under 21. The theme parks and malls have no dress code.
Language: Bahasa Malaysia is the official language; English is widely spoken in KL, Genting and tourist areas of Langkawi.
Grab: Malaysia's ride-hailing app works well in KL. It is available in Langkawi but coverage is patchier - pre-booked transfers are more reliable. In Genting, transport is by cable car, shuttle or taxi.
KLIA vs KLIA2: KLIA is the main international terminal; KLIA2 is used by AirAsia and other low-cost carriers. They are separate buildings - allow 3 hours for cross-terminal transfers. With children and luggage, this is a hard minimum.
Honeymoon perks: Not applicable on this package. But many Malaysian hotels offer family perks (adjoining rooms, children's amenities) if told in advance - we share your booking as a family at the time of reservation.
Seasonal Considerations:
November-April: Best window. Langkawi dry, Andaman Sea calm, island hopping reliable. Genting theme parks run full schedules. December-January are peak. Book 8-10 weeks ahead.
May–October: Southwest monsoon. Langkawi sees rain and rough seas - island hopping can be cancelled. KL and Genting remain hot and humid with afternoon showers. Cheaper hotel rates but less reliable outdoor activities.
Lunar New Year (January or February): Peak domestic travel in Malaysia. Flights, Genting hotels and theme parks sell out at premium rates.
Hari Raya (dates vary): Another peak domestic travel period. Book early.
Malaysian school holidays: Genting and KL are busier during Malaysian school holidays (mid-year and year-end). Theme park queues are longer.
Year-round: Kuala Lumpur is hot and humid (25–35°C) with afternoon showers. Genting is cooler (15-25°C). Langkawi is 26-32°C year-round.

Cancellation, Amendment & Refund Policy
1. Booking Confirmation & Advance Payment
A booking shall be considered confirmed only upon receipt of the required advance payment. The company reserves the right to release unconfirmed bookings without prior notice. All payments made towards booking confirmation are subject to the cancellation terms mentioned below.
2. Cancellation Policy
All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email or official communication channels. Cancellation charges will be calculated based on the total package cost and the date on which the written cancellation request is received by the company.

3. Non-Refundable Components
The following components shall be strictly non-refundable once confirmed:

- Peak season hotel bookings
- Houseboat bookings during high season
- Adventure/activity tickets
- Any special event or festive season supplement
- Service fees, processing fees, and convenience charges
The company reserves the right to deduct supplier-imposed cancellation charges in addition to the above retention charges wherever applicable.
4. Amendment / Rescheduling Policy
Any amendment, modification, postponement, or rescheduling request must be submitted in writing and shall be subject to availability and supplier approval. The company does not guarantee acceptance of amendment requests after booking confirmation. Any fare difference, seasonal surcharge, hotel rate revision, transport cost escalation, or supplier-imposed amendment fee shall be payable additionally by the client/agent. Amendments requested within 30 days of arrival may be treated as a cancellation and rebooking at the sole discretion of the company.
5. No Show Policy
Failure of the guest/client to arrive, utilize booked services, or join the tour on the scheduled date without prior written intimation shall be treated as a “No Show”.
In such cases:
- 100% of the total booking amount shall be forfeited
- No refund, amendment, or credit note shall be applicable
- Unused services, early departures, or missed sightseeing tours shall not qualify for any refund.
6. Force Majeure / Unforeseen Circumstances
Poise Travel and Tourism shall not be held liable for any cancellation, delay, alteration, loss, or additional expense arising due to circumstances beyond the company’s control, including but not limited to:
- Natural disasters
- Floods, snowfall, landslides, road blockages
- Political unrest, strikes, curfews
- Flight cancellations or operational disruptions
- Pandemic-related restrictions
- Government orders or travel advisories
Under such circumstances:
- Refunds, if any, shall strictly depend upon recoveries received from hotels, transporters, and other suppliers.
- Administrative, processing, and operational charges shall remain non-refundable.
- The company reserves the absolute right to alter itineraries in the interest of guest safety and operational feasibility.
7. Refund Policy
Eligible refunds, if any, shall be processed within 30–45 working days from the date of cancellation confirmation. Refund timelines are subject to receipt of funds from respective suppliers/vendors. Refunds shall be processed only through the original payment mode unless otherwise agreed in writing. Bank charges, payment gateway fees, foreign exchange fluctuations, and transaction charges shall be deducted from the refundable amount.
8. Pricing & Supplier Protection Clause
All package rates are dynamic and subject to availability at the time of confirmation. In case of sudden supplier tariff revisions, fuel hikes, government taxes, or hotel policy changes, the company reserves the right to revise package pricing prior to final confirmation. Confirmed bookings shall remain protected unless impacted by force majeure or supplier default.
9. Jurisdiction
Any dispute arising in relation to bookings, payments, or services shall be subject to the jurisdiction of courts located in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir only.
10. Hotel Damage & Liability Clause
Any loss, damage, breakage, theft, or misuse of hotel/houseboat property caused by guests shall be the sole responsibility of the guest and/or the booking agent. Charges imposed by the hotel/houseboat management for damages, excessive cleaning, missing items, or misconduct must be settled directly by the guest or agent before check-out. Poise Travel and Tourism shall not be held liable for disputes arising between guests and hotel management regarding damages or conduct. The company reserves the right to recover any unpaid damage charges from the booking agent in case the guest departs without settlement.
11. Guest Conduct Policy
Guests are expected to maintain respectful and lawful behavior throughout the tour. Any misconduct including but not limited to:
- Abuse towards staff/drivers/hotel employees
- Illegal activities
- Consumption of prohibited substances
- Damage to public or private property
- Disturbance to other guests
May result in immediate termination of services without any refund. Any fines, penalties, legal consequences, or damages arising due to guest behavior shall be borne entirely by the guest and/or (b2b) booking agent. The company reserves the right to deny services to intoxicated, abusive, or disruptive guests if deemed necessary for operational safety.
12. Payment Default Clause
All payments must be cleared within the agreed timeline prior to guest arrival unless otherwise approved in writing. Failure to clear pending dues may result in:
- Release of hotel bookings
- Suspension of services
- Denial of check-in/check-out assistance
- Cancellation of transport arrangements without further liability on the company.
In case of delayed payments:
- The company reserves the right to levy interest/late payment charges.
- Any supplier penalties arising due to delayed payment shall be recoverable from the booking agent/client.
- Vouchers and confirmations issued prior to full payment shall remain provisional until payment realization.
13. Peak Season / Blackout Cancellation Policy
The following periods shall be treated as Peak Season / Blackout Dates:
- Christmas & New Year
- Eid Holidays
- Long weekends
- National holidays
- Heavy snowfall periods
- Festival dates
- Any dates specifically notified by the company
During these periods:
- Hotel bookings, transport services, and houseboats may carry stricter cancellation terms imposed by suppliers.
- Certain bookings may become completely non-refundable immediately after confirmation.
- Advance payments during blackout periods may be non-transferable and non-adjustable.
- The company reserves the right to apply special cancellation policies for peak dates irrespective of the standard cancellation policy mentioned above.
14. Kashmir Weather / Snowfall Disclaimer
Kashmir is a weather-sensitive destination and operations may be affected due to:
- Snowfall
- Landslides
- Road closures
- Avalanches
- Traffic restrictions
- Flight disruptions
- Government-imposed movement restrictions
Poise Travel and Tourism shall not be responsible for:
- Non-availability of sightseeing
- Gondola closure
- Missed flights/trains
- Route diversions
- Hotel changes caused by weather conditions
- Delay or cancellation of activities due to snowfall or road blockage
Additional expenses arising due to:
- Extra hotel nights
- Alternative transport
- Route changes
- Vehicle chain charges during snow
- Flight rescheduling
Shall be borne directly by the guest/client. No refund shall be applicable for unused services caused due to weather conditions or government restrictions beyond operational control.
15. Supplier Substitution Clause
In case any confirmed hotel, houseboat, or transport provider becomes unavailable due to operational reasons, overbooking, weather conditions, maintenance, or force majeure, the company reserves the right to provide a similar category alternative without prior liability. Every effort shall be made to maintain service standards and comfort levels.
16. B2B Confidentiality Clause
All contracted rates, quotations, and pricing shared with agents/partners are strictly confidential and intended solely for B2B business use. Redistribution of net rates directly to suppliers, competitors, or unauthorized third parties is strictly prohibited. The company reserves the right to terminate business relationships in case of rate misuse or breach of confidentiality.
