THE MOUNTAIN CHANGES.
THE CLIMB DOESN'T.

How The Week Works /

FOUR FORMATS. NO PANELS.

  • Two people at a houseboat window, looking out over the lake
    01

    Deadline Circles

Four people, forty-five minutes, one person's decision at a time, starting from the date it has to be made by.

  • A misty snowfield at Gulmarg with the gondola line beyond
    02

    Snowline Walks

One-to-one walks along the snowline, paired by the hosts. Side by side in the cold, people say the thing they have been avoiding.

  • Gondola cars and cables seen from above, over sunlit snow
    03

    The Winter Brief

At sunrise on the summit day, you write it: the decision, the deadline, your first three moves, and the risk you are accepting.

  • A Kashmiri meal on a table, with a cup of noon chai
    04

    The Long Table (Winter)

Every evening, one table and no agenda. Kahwa, and the conversations the day started.

Is This You? /

A DECISION
WITH A CALENDAR.

For you if

  • Your decision has a calendar attached: a bridge round closing in eight weeks, a launch before the fiscal year turns, a partnership that signs or walks
  • You are willing to move through cold

Not for you if

  • You want a relaxed sightseeing holiday
  • Your decision can wait until spring
  • You need the gondola to run on a particular day to feel the week was worth it

Gulmarg in winter is fragile. The road can close. The gondola can shut. We build the week so the decision happens whether or not the mountain cooperates.

What You Carry Down /

A DECISION, ON PAPER, DATED.

The Winter Brief is this edition's Summit Brief, with the deadline written on it.

The Winter Brief is read at ~3,050 m at Kongdoori, or ~3,980 m on the Apharwat shoulder when the upper cable is running and conditions allow.

The decision does not depend on the gondola.

A Note From The Founder /

There comes a point when travel begins to mean something more. More than ticking destinations off a list. More than luxury for the sake of luxury. More than simply going somewhere new.

For me, the most meaningful journeys were never just about places — they were about perspective. The people you meet unexpectedly. The conversations that stay with you. The stillness of a mountain morning. The feeling of being completely present, somewhere far from routine, yet strangely closer to yourself.

Altitude Society was born from this belief.

A belief that travel, when experienced intentionally, has the power to shift something within us. That the right environment, the right people, and the right moments can quietly redefine how we see the world — and ourselves.

This was never meant to be for everyone.

It is for those who seek depth over distraction. Meaning over movement. Experiences that feel personal, rare, and deeply unforgettable.

If you find yourself here, perhaps you are already one of them.

Welcome to Altitude Society.

Heartfelt thanks to Poise Travel and Tourism.

They planned our Amarnath Yatra and Kashmir trip very well and special thanks to Raista Ji who took care of us like a family member and kept us happy during the trip. Once again thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Before You Register /

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED.

Is this a networking event?

No. There are no pitches, no name badges and no panels. You come with one real decision, and twelve people spend the retreat helping each other make theirs. The connections last because of that work.

What changes from one edition to the next?

The mountain, the season, the length and the price. The method and the room do not: every edition climbs through the same four stages with twelve seats. Each edition's page has its own route, days and dates.

Can I apply for an edition marked Coming?

Not yet. An edition opens for applications once its dates are set. Register interest on its card and we will tell you on WhatsApp when it opens.

Can I come on my own?

Yes. You can apply solo or with one other person. Each of you applies separately.

What if I am not selected?

We reply to every application within 48 hours. If a cohort is not the right fit, we will say so plainly, and tell you if another cohort or edition might be.

What if I need to cancel?

Our cancellation policy applies, and the full terms are shared with your invitation before you pay anything.

What happens after the retreat?

You leave with your Summit Brief and a Rope Team partner. We check in with you at 30 and 90 days, and you stay part of the society, with first access to later cohorts and editions.

SPRING IS TOO LATE.
SO IS NEXT QUARTER.

Twelve seats a cohort. Register interest and we tell you first when the dates are set.
